Safex® DG41 is a tough and resilient structural interlayer made from plasticized polyvinyl butyral (PVB). Designed for applications requiring increased interlayer rigidity and high glass adhesion, it outperforms standard glazing interlayers in strength and durability. This interlayer ensures the glass remains intact even after impact and under varying temperatures, offering superior protection in high-performance applications.

Features
- Superior Structural Capacity
Safex DG41 offers superior structural strength compared to standard PVB interlayers. It is capable of maintaining the glass’s integrity under both high and low temperatures, even after impact or under load, making it ideal for demanding applications.
- Resistance to Delamination
Formulated to resist delamination, Safex DG41 offers excellent edge stability. It is also compatible with reflective coatings and low-emissivity coatings, expanding its range of use in high-performance architectural designs.
- Load Resistance Flexibility
The rigidity of the Safex DG41 interlayer allows laminates to either withstand higher uniform loads with the same glass thickness or reduce the glass thickness while still maintaining the same load resistance, offering flexibility in design and material use.
- Optimal for Annealed and Heat-Strengthened Glass
This interlayer is ideal for use with annealed and heat-strengthened glass, providing opportunities for designs with less optical distortion. It also maintains view-through capability after glass breakage and offers added protection in environments with thermal stress.
- Effective with Tempered Glass
Safex DG41 can be used effectively with tempered glass, though careful attention to temperature conditions and anchoring for post-breakage performance is necessary.
Applications
Safex DG41 is appropriate for a wide range of structural glazing applications, including:
- Exposed Edge Laminates
- Floors, Stairs, Balconies
- Canopies and Point Glazing Systems
- Clip Systems, Captured Systems
- Curtain Walls
- Sloped and Overhead Glazing
Essentially, Safex DG41 is suitable for any glass application where the glass needs to remain intact after breakage, providing structural integrity and safety in demanding conditions.
